About James Rentz
James (Jim) Rentz graduated from Westminster College in New Wilmington, Pa. in 1969. From 1969 thru 1979 he taught graphic arts and photography at New Castle High School, developing the graphic arts department as an adjunct to the already existing program. Additionally I exhibited and sold my serigraphy in and around the Pittsburgh area during the decade of the seventies. I left the retail art market in 1980 to start up a yacht brokerage in my home town of New Castle, Pa. Yet another yearning in my younger years.
In 1991 as the sailboat business began to wane I ventured into the antique car restoration business to keep my creative juices flowing all the while maintaining my interest in photography which I had from my earliest college days and working as a newspaper photo tech and assignment photographer during summer breaks in college.
Upon retirement in 2004 and moving to Florida I was once again able to revive my interest and experiences in photography. Living in The Villages with all it's splendor awoke an inner urge to once again get behind the lens and produce once more. Now with a lifetime behind me I was able to incorporate my varied likes into my art work once again.
I hope that you enjoy my latest works infusing what I did four decades with todays new technologies and opportunities. Old and new coming together for a fresh, new look today.
